Shooting the mitzy…
Shooting a vehicle in Spain to create something a little different isn’t as easy as you might think – it’s always sunny… For some moody backdrops and angry skies you have to wait for the weather.
When you do get the adverse weather you need to drop your plans and head out straight away with your list of ideas and locations.
ADDING SOMETHING MOODY…
Shooting the 10k road near Maria [Almeria] for some asphalt action before the heavens opened and getting dirty after the 2022 ‘Calima’ event [top right].
Spain has over 300 days of sunshine every year so to take advantage of some bad weather you have to be ready. Spring and Autumn are obviously the changeable seasons but the window is small each way.
Building the Shogun Sport into an overland rig has been worth it in every way. The vehicle now allows us to get out and explore places we wouldn’t otherwise see and stay out overnight being self sufficient through the equipment setup we have.
Overlanding has become something we value greatly not just for exploration and fun but also for relaxation, health and wellbeing as well as being at one with nature. There is more to life than work and money and for us overlanding enables us to get away from the pressures of the world and just take a break somewhere on planet earth.
Early mornings out and about in the Altiplano de Granada. Roaming the countryside as the sun comes up then stopping for breakfast with a great view – priceless.
“Normal people can be happy with a regular life, but there is more to life than just plodding through an average existence.”
