Why Fatwood?
The Andalucian woodland has an abundant supply of fatwood from pine trees damaged by storms in previous years. In 2021 we switched from predominantly gas to natural fuel for our overland cooking which included ignition sources, we ditched the firelighters for something far more natural, easier to light and eco friendly – We promise that once you have used fatwood to light your kettle, fire pit or barbeque you’ll never look back!

Naturally Sourced
All of our fatwood is sourced from the Andalucian countryside in the Granada province. The pine trees where we harvest the fatwood are predomninantly storm damaged and the majority of fatwood comes from broken and damaged limbs. At no time do we ever cut or damage healthy trees.
