Tactical Seat Back Organizers – Worth the Money?

Tactical Seat Back Organizers – Worth the Money?

Tactical Seat Back Organizers – is it worth buying one and do they provide a good storage solution?

As anyone who enjoys overlanding will know, space is at a premium, every square inch of space is important so we need to use it well. OK, so we don’t do round the world trips or anything that but we still need storage and utilise every hack we can to get as much hear into the rig as possible for our style of overlanding.

Tactical seat back organizers are a budget buy if you hit the big online retailers, there are of course alternatives and more expensive options [we love Tasmanian Tiger gear but could not stretch to their modular front seat panel which looks like a great piece of kit] so a budget alternative was ordered.

Why buy one?

  • You need extra storage for smaller items
  • You have a rear passenger
  • You carry extra paperwork/maps etc
  • Aesthetics

For us we needed extra storage, the TT pouch we used for our fire kit had been in every concievable place inside the Shogun but was never happy so never had a permanent home, the molle system on the seat organisers could well offer a solution including a bottle holder for our back seat passenger.

molle system – handy for overlanding

The molle system for overlanding is very handy, it offers the opportunity to store items in an elevated position instead of just being stuffed into drawers or under seats. Tactical seat back organizers are simple enough, designs do vary slightly but they are all essentially the same thing, most also have a large pocket like many seats do for that big old road atlas so fitting one of these means that you will now have two – double the space with the seat back pocket [if you have one] being hidden.

Fitting the organizer is simple, there are straps top and bottom with plastic clasps, simply adjust the straps so everything is nice and tight and you can start organizing your orginizer.

Are they worth the money?

Yes, for €20,00 euros you can’t go wrong, we’re not saying that the budget models are anywhere near as tough and durable as the pro versions but they do offer a cheap and effective way of increasing storage space and organisation. Remember with a molle system you can attach a whole range of pockets/pouches/holders etc so the sky is the limit.
